If you're looking for a grey tone in Travertine Tile or Pavers for your project your focus should turn to two Travertines, Philadelphia and Silver. So, let's discuss the difference between the two and how can you determine which could be the best for you.
Silver and Philadelphia are both color tones that originate from Turkey and are the two predominantly grey options when looking at Travertine. They are both really quality stones and provide a very luxurious feel to any space.
How do you tell the difference?
Silver is going to be a lighter overall tone with mostly greys, white, and some cream tones but it is dominated more by the greys and white. Philadelphia on the other hand also has the greys and whites but it has much more of the cream to beige tone.
How do you pick the right one for your project?
The general rule of thumb would be to determine how warm or cool you want the room to feel. The Silver is going to provide a little more of a cool, light feel while the Philadelphia with more brown and beige undertones will provide more of a warm tone. If you do have a lot of other brown or tan tones that are in the space than the Philadelphia will tie in more with the overall feel of the room but if you are trying to match more of just grey than the Silver will connect better with that side.
Both of these colors do come in a variety of finishes which are Honed, High Honed, Tumbled, Brushed Chiseled, and Polished.
